The Kamilaroi Highway
“From the Great Divide to the Great Outback”
Named after the traditional owners, the Highway links the Hunter Valley with Outback NSW. This 600km journey begins just across the Great Dividing Range at Willow Tree before following the course of the Namoi River as it makes its way toward the Darling River then onto Bourke.
This is the agricultural heartland of NSW, growing everything from wheat to cotton and sunflowers; and attractions ranging from spectacular sightings of giant combine harvesters traveling through acres of grain, to mountain vistas and Dorothea Mackellar’s “Sunburnt Country” with “Sweeping Plains”.
The journey passes through many attractive towns such as Quirindi, Gunnedah, Narrabri and Walgett before reaching the Darling River port of Bourke.

More detailed information is available from the Narrabri Shire Tourism Information Centre.
