The Fossickers Way

An alternative route between Sydney and Brisbane, the Fossickers Way is a quiet, leisurely scenic drive providing fully sealed roads for easy driving.

The route embraces towns, all within easy reach of each other, beginning at Nundle just off the New England Highway, then passing through Tamworth, Manilla, Barraba, Bingara, Warialda, Inverell and Glen Innes. Most Towns along the drive provide many of the facilities expected in major regional centres, whilst welcoming visitors with warm, friendly country style hospitality.

Landscapes vary from steep wooded hills and native forest to wide fertile valleys fringed by a haze of blue ranges. It is an exciting and different drive which takes you through one of the richest gem areas in Australia. You may wish to stop along the way to find a treasure of your own.
