Opal Drive

This drive gives the visitor a perfect opportunity to experience the best of Australia’s landscape, flora and fauna.
 
Often referred to as the Opal Connection, the road between Narrabri and Lightning Ridge takes you to the edge of the outback in a little under three hours. Wee Waa, the oldest town in the Namoi Valley and the Cotton Capital of Australia and Burren Junction with its hot artesian baths are just two places not to miss.
 
The Gwydir Highway brings you back to Moree through some of Australia’s most ancient Aboriginal tribal lands. The highway features the Collymongle Carved Trees and then it’s on to Moree, home of the famous Spa Baths.
