Narrabri to Inverell
Tourist Drive 3 takes you from the vast plains of the Narrabri district to the edge of the New England to Inverell. This is one of the prettiest drives in Big Sky Country. It takes you to Bingara through the northern section of the rugged Mt Kaputar National Park (Sawn Rocks and the Glacial Area found on this road).
Bingara is the home of many attractions including the mighty Copeton Dam, Glacial area, Myall Creek Memorial site, and the magnificent Roxy Theatre.
The road from Bingara follows the Gwydir River for some of the way. After passing the historic Keera property and homestead the road takes you through some breathtaking scenery to Copeton Dam, over the massive rock filled wall. A great opportunity to appreciate the size of this impressive waterway. Then its on through olive groves to Inverell, the Sapphire City.
